11 Ways To Completely Sabotage Your Item Upgrade

World of Warcraft - Item Upgrade

Item upgrades allow players to raise the item level of armor and weapons that can be equipped. This boosts the stats of that gear, as well as sometimes adding buffs or rolling an affix again.

It is important to keep in mind that upgrading magic and common gear is not always worth it. Unique and rare equipment will soon surpass upgraded magic and common equipment.

Cost

When a player decides to upgrade an item, they have to pay Gold for the upgrade. The cost of upgrading an item depends on its current level and the upgrade type selected. Upgrades to weapons are typically cheaper than upgrades to armor because weapons have lower requirements. The amount of Gold needed increases as an item is upgraded.

Upgraded items also come with improved stats that can improve its performance in different ways. This could mean increasing its attack power and critical strike chance or damage per second. In addition an upgraded item could be able to provide extra buffs to the unit it is equipped with. These upgrades can be used to boost a variety of purposes such as to increase the overall power of an individual or group unit. They can also have a major impact on gameplay.

The upgrade system for items in World of Warcraft provides players with the ability to upgrade the levels of armor, weapons, and trinkets. This process is similar to the reforging process used in Mists of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor. However, instead of making use of currency, players will need to visit an item upgrader to complete the process.

Item upgrades can be costly, especially when it comes to weapons and armor. Based on the upgrade path you select, each level increase can cost Crests or Valorstones. The total cost can be very prohibitive for players who do not have the resources or are unable to grind them.

The game allows you to play a reroll of an upgraded item using a special tool from the menu of items. This option replaces the upgraded item with an unlevel 1 version that offers different bonus effects. This can be useful to get better scores on items that are already upgraded, but can be a waste of resources.

For instance upgrading a weapon from three to level six will boost the weapon's damage by plus two levels. A bonus stat will also be added to the upgraded item based on its level. This bonus is a combination of a guaranteed extra substat as well as a random stat that will change in value from upgrade to upgrade.

A player can reroll an upgraded item by using a Reroll Token to exchange the upgrade for a new one. The new item has a different set extra bonuses, and a lower item level.
